Cook-a-thon: Bawumia, Chief of Staff, Lordina visits, and other major highlights so far

Chef Failatu Abdul Razak, a Ghanaian chef seeking to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon, has been honored by the Ghana Chefs Association and has the backing of several significant personalities in the nation.

Some of these individuals include Ghana’s Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, former First Lady Lordina Mahama, and Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

On January 5, during her Cook-A-Thon effort, the Ghana Chefs Association paid her a visit and awarded her the designation of Executive Chef in Ghana.

Chef Isaac, representing the Association, stated that they were pleased of her accomplishment and hoped to inspire other chefs to succeed in their careers.

The Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, also paid her a visit on the same day.

The next day, January 6, Lordina Mahama and Dr. Bawumia paid Chef Faila a visit at the Modern City Hotel in Tamale, where she has been cooking since New Year’s Day.

Lordina Mahama, who provided the cookware for the experiment, consoled and supported the chef, who was filled with emotion.

Dr. Bawumia, on the other hand, congratulated the chef and other Ghanaians who have sought to beat Guinness World Records, saying their efforts are placing Ghana on the map and increasing the country’s tourist potential.

He also indicated a desire to sample the chef’s creations. Other celebrities, like prominent stand-up comedian SDK Dele, also stopped by to show their support for Chef Faila.

Chef Failatu Abdul Razak is on her seventh day of constant cooking at Tamale’s Modern City Hotel.

She achieved her goal of 120 hours and beat the record for the longest cooking marathon, which is presently held by Alan Fisher (Ireland) with a time of 119 hours and 57 minutes.

Other Ghanaians have stated aspirations to break records, such as the most lipstick applications in 30 seconds.
