Kofi Bentil, a lawyer and vice president of IMANI Africa, has stated that it is offensive to compare him to journalist Paul Adom Otchere.
Hanan-Confidence Abdul, a pro-opposition National Democratic Congress activist, compared the lawyer to the journalist in a Meta verified post intended for a public audience. The comparison did not sit well with Abdul.
“Clearly, Kofi Bentil is the educated version of Paul Adom-otchere.” Hanan Confidence Abdul wrote.
Kofi Bentil expressed his opinion that it was an insult in a Facebook response that drew more than 100 replies.
“That’s an insult. You’re off.”
After endorsing Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia before to the New Patriotic Party flagbearer primaries, the IMANI Vice President faced criticism from oppositional NDC factions.
Mr. Bentil did not explain why he thought the parallel was offensive.
