Although the nation is in trouble, National Democratic Congress (NDC) Flagbearer John Dramani Mahama says residents must not give up faith on the potential of reform, asking them to vote on December 7, 2024.

He claimed that the crisis had led many young people to fear that all hope was lost, prompting many to decide to skip voting during elections.

He was speaking to the congregation of the Sanctuary of Wind and Fire Assemblies of God Church in Tamale, where he and his wife were celebrating the New Year.

Mr. Mahama stated that, despite the country’s difficulties, God had not abandoned Ghana, and that God had used the event to test and teach Ghanaians.

He used a biblical example, saying that God took the Egyptians through the desert for 40 days and nights when He could easily bring them right to Cannan, just so they could learn and appreciate Cannan and what God had prepared for them.

He said, “Sometimes, we go through tribulations and that does not mean we should throw up our hands in despair. We must continue to work hard to achieve the objectives we set for ourselves.”

The NDC Flagbearer stated that he and other NDC patriots were ready to strive to revitalize the country as long as they stayed in politics.

“Today, the black star has fallen,” he said, “but I can assure you that it will rise again.”

He stated that he will work to leave the country a better place than he found it.
