Daniel Bugri Naabu, a former member of the Northern Regional New Patriotic Party (NPP), has disclosed the names of those who were seen on the video that was released discussing the attempt to oust Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, Inspector-General of Police.
He has stated that the talk occurred with three senior police officials.
Mr. Naabu, who appeared before an Adhoc Committee looking into the recording, recognized the voices as belonging to Superintendent Gyebi, COP Mensah, and Commander Asare.
He said that the discussion happened in his Osu office, which is close to the Police Station.
He mentioned that the police commanders attended the meeting in his office through his son, whose identity he omitted.
Although he acknowledged capturing the tape, the NPP veteran insisted he didn’t release it and didn’t know who did.
He said there were three meetings, but after one of them, he decided to pay someone to videotape it so that no one could dispute what had been said.
After that, he gave it to President Nana Akufo-Addo.
