Dr. Edmund Arthur, a food scientist and nutritionist, advises against ladies sitting down for lengthy periods of time without getting up if they wish to avoid pain or injury to their bones.
According to him, women produce more calories when they sit for extended periods of time than men do since they have more fatty tissues.
He says that by doing this, the lady gains weight and her bones are subjected to undue pressure.
Because males have greater muscles and women have more fatty tissues, we lose energy and burn some calories even when we are just sitting.
Women shouldn’t even sit down for two to three hours without getting up; instead, attempt to balance it out by standing up and taking a short stroll. Women’s bodies naturally burn more calories while they are sitting down.
In the event that you don’t, you’ll put on weight, apply some sort of tension on your bones, and eventually, your bone density will drop, he said.
Dr. Arthur further stated during his appearance on Joy Prime’s Prime Morning that taking painkillers to treat discomfort has more negative effects than positive ones.
The source or basis of the pain is not truly addressed by painkillers, he said, who only transmit messages to the brain to make the agony go away.
The osteoclast, a bone-working cell, may potentially become worse as a result of the medications, according to him.
“Painkillers do not deal with the fundamentals of what is causing the pain; they merely send signals to the neurotransmitters that the pain should subside, but the root of the pain has not been addressed.”
“It is unfortunate that people who take painkillers even make the bone-working cell worse,” he remarked.
He advised people to drink a lot of water and consume meals that are healthier and more nutrient-dense since they will provide the nutrients needed to mend bones.
Again, he counselled people to focus on their weight in order to avoid being fat and to strive as much as they could to promote positive.
