The Upper East region’s Bolgatanga Technical University administration has expressed great shock and grief following the untimely death of Mr. Alhassan Azumah, the university’s Deputy Registrar and Director of Public Affairs.
Unknown intruders fatally shot Mr. Azumah at his home in Sokabisi, a Bolgatanga neighborhood.
Professor Peter Osei Boamah, speaking on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, expressed the tremendous sadness felt by the university’s management, staff, and students in reaction to the occurrence.
The statement strongly denounced the horrific murder and informed readers that the Upper East Regional Crime Office is aggressively investigating the tragic tragedy.
While underlining that Bolgatanga Technical University is a safe place for academic pursuits, the statement stressed that the occurrence was unique and unconnected to the university’s operations.
It encouraged the university community and the general public to be calm while the police conducted an extensive investigation to capture the perpetrators of this horrible murder.
“Management of the University strongly condemns in no uncertainty terms, the gruesome murder of its staff. Management wishes to assure all and sundry that, the unfortunate incident is under investigation by the Upper East Regional Crime Office, the statement added.
