Bishop Dag Heward-Mills, the leader of the United Denominations Originating from the Lighthouse Group of Churches, has urged Christians to exhibit lifestyles that reflect their faith and abstain from sin.

In his Good Friday sermon delivered at the Church’s 2023 Miracle Service at the Black Stars Square in Accra, he emphasized that Christians must refrain from vices such as stealing, adultery, fornication, robbery, and alcoholism.

Bishop Heward-Mills stated that being a follower of Jesus Christ requires making sacrifices, and one cannot continue in the same vices they claimed to have repented from.

He explained that the Cross of Jesus Christ represented the sacrifice one had to make to serve God, and the price had to be paid.

At the Miracle Service, thousands of believers, both members, and visitors from across the country, were present, mostly dressed in black to signify mourning. They sang with enthusiasm to worship and praise the Lord for His suffering on the cross and sacrifice to humanity.

Bishop Heward-Mills emphasized that following Jesus Christ required obedience and humility. He noted that Jesus Christ was obedient even to death, and Christians must also be obedient in their daily lives.

Good Friday is one of the significant pillars of the Christian faith, marking the suffering, crucifixion, and death of Jesus Christ. It is celebrated by Christians worldwide.

Bishop Heward-Mills urged Christians to continue to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ and exhibit lifestyles that reflect their faith, even if it requires making sacrifices.
