Beyonce waxwork goes viral after being unveiled: ‘Who is that?’

A new Beyoncé wax figure was unveiled in the UK at Madame Tussauds in Blackpool, alongside a figure of Lady Gaga. Studio artist Natascha Schnieden and wardrobe technician Lydia Robson worked on the figures before their public debut.

However, the Beyoncé figure has garnered attention for the wrong reasons, as many fans have expressed confusion and disappointment over its resemblance to the iconic singer.

Social media has been flooded with comments criticizing Madame Tussauds for the inaccuracies in Beyoncé’s wax figure.

“They can never get Beyoncé’s wax figure right,” moaned one angry fan, while a second tweeted: “What’s with wax figure museums and messing up Beyoncé’s face every single time?”

Others poked fun at the situation, with one replying: “This is what happens when you order your Beyoncé wax figures from Temu,” referring to the budget online marketplace.

Some observers pointed out that the wax figure resembled the American sitcom actress Leah Remini rather than Beyoncé. Remini, upon seeing the comparisons gaining traction on social media, humorously responded on Twitter, expressing her amusement over the situation.

She stated that she was “screaming” and appreciated the tweets, jokingly embracing any comparisons to Beyoncé. This isn’t the first instance of controversy surrounding a wax figure of Beyoncé.

In 2017, a wax figure of the singer faced criticism for appearing “whitewashed,” with many comparing it to Taylor Swift. Following backlash on social media, Madame Tussauds New York made “adjustments” to the figure.

“We love, respect, and enjoy a working relationship with Beyoncé …” said the venue in a statement. “We have adjusted the styling and lighting of her figure, and she is [back] on display.”
