On Friday, May 5, 2023, the incident took place in the Ashanti Region’s Adankwame neighbourhood in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District.

The deceased’s father and sister, who are fighting for their lives at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, were also injured by the suspect, who has only been identified as Emmanuel, with a machete.

“In the morning, my husband departed for work, and he returned home between four and five in the evening. My son ran to greet his father and give him a hug. At that point, our landlord’s son approached my husband brandishing a machete. He savagely butchered my son and my wife. He attacked my daughter as well, who was attempting to save my son. Then we had to run away. All three patients have been sent to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital after being alerted. But the 1-year-4-month-old infant’s mother, Janet Owusuwaa, told Citi News that the child had already departed away.
