The Ashanti Region’s Chief of Aduamoa in the Afigya Kwabre District has been deposed by Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
According to reports, Nana Osei Tiri Ababio was involved in a wide range of scandals, including numerous land-related conflicts with other chiefs.
He is also charged with breaking some accepted protocol.
The Asantehene stated in his ruling that the Chief disregarded his warnings to stop his behavior after receiving them.
Otumfuo, who strongly conveyed his disapproval at the chief’s disregard for his warnings, then issued an order for the removal of Nana Osei Tiri Ababio’s royal slipper.
According to reports, this is the local chief’s fourth appearance before the Asantehene to discuss land and other related issues.
The Kumasi Traditional Council met on Monday, and the Otumfuo made his decision during that meeting.
With the most recent occurring four days ago, this destoolment will be the third in three months.
Following claims of unlawful mining, the Bekwai-Abodom Chief was deposed on August 10, 2023, a Thursday.
Nana Saforo Koto was charged with selling unauthorized lands to unauthorized miners for use in their operations within the rulership’s catchment area.
One of the Asante kingdom’s longest-serving traditional kings is the Chief of Aduamoa, who also serves as the Nkonsonhene, and has been in power for nearly 20 years.
