The famous music group, the Bee Gees was formed in 1958 by the siblings Barry Gibb, Robin Gibb and Maurice Gibb. With the birth of the group, the three brothers rose to enormous prominence in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
The Bee Gees later rose to become prominent performers in the disco music era in the late 1970s. Their style of singing was very unique and catchy. This gave their group a great deal of exposure during that era.
They sang recognizable three-part tight harmonies : Robin sang clear vibrato lead vocals which became a hallmark of their earlier success. Barry Gibb’s R&B falsetto became their signature sound during the mid- to late 1970s and 1980s.
The Bee Gees Albums
The Bee Gees have a total of 22 albums to their credit. Some of their albums are The Bee Gees Sing and Play 14 Barry Gibb Songs (1965), Spicks and Specks (1966), Bee Gees’ 1st (1967) among others. The Bee Gees have won many awards for their contributions to the music industry. They got their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1979.

Two members of the three founders are not alive. As mentioned earlier, the Bee Gees was formed by the three brothers Barry Gibb, Robin Gibb and Maurice Gibb. Maurice died suddenly in January 2003 aged 53.
Robin passed away in May 2012, aged 62. His death was attributed to a prolonged period of failing health. Barry Gibb is currently the only surviving member of the once vibrant music trio, the Bee Gees.
