It is believed that Movement for Change’s Alan Kyerematen receives backing from John Peter Amewu, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Hohoe Constituency.
Following the Party Primaries on November 5, Peter Amewu, the NPP’s sole representative in Volta Region and a well-liked figure in the area, thanked Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Mr. Amewu publicly supported Alan Kyerematen in the Volta Region prior to Alan Kyerematen’s departure.
He said that his guru was Alan Kyeremateng. This happened after it was noticed that Alan’s group included the Minister for Railways Development at the late Kumawu Member of Parliament (MP), Philip Basoah.
According to recently surfaced sources, the Hohoe MP and Hon. Abubakar Sadique Boniface, a former minister in the Kufuor government and member of parliament for the Madina Constituency, may be considered to be Alan Kyeremateng’s running mates.
In an attempt to be considered for Running Mate should Alan win the NPP presidential race, Mr. Amewu has allegedly started lobbying Alan’s power brokers indirectly, but insiders claim that Alan’s resignation has left him in a tough position.
Any member who joins Alan Kyerematen would lose their party membership, the NPP has warned.
