The Bawjiase District Police Command is holding a 25-year-old accused cultist known as “sakawa” after he was caught trying to acquire secondhand sanitary napkins.
Teachers at Awutu Obrachire Secondary Technical School allegedly busted the suspect, who lives in Agona Swedru.
Sources claim that the sakawa guys frequently plot with some of the students, particularly the boarders, to get used pads for them to utilize in rituals.
Adom News was informed by a teacher at the school that the young guy paid a female student GH100 to package the used pads for him.
If she completed the assignment successfully, he would lavishly reward her. After accepting the suggestion, the student notified a few of the professors.
The instructor said that as police officers set up an ambush inside the school, they bought fresh sanitary pads, painted them red, and then contacted the suspect to come receive them.
He was detained when he arrived, and after questioning he admitted that his chairman at Agona Swedru had asked him to obtain the pads for ceremonial use.
