Alfred Thompson of the NPP teases Ablakwa, “Baby Jet, now you’re Bishop Cathedral.”

Alfred Kojo Thompson, a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), claims that the North Tongu Constituency Member of Parliament is only on a mission to disparage the Akufo-Addo administration.

Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa claims that his primary goal is to brand President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as corrupt. He cited his investigation into the National Cathedral project and the President’s foreign trips on chartered jets.

He referred to the MP as “Bishop Cathedral,” saying, “He used to be Baby Jet, now Cathedral is his baby.”

After speaking about his alleged exposés on the National Cathedral project during his visit to the USA, the member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was interviewed by TV3’s New Day on May 8 and then discussed his stated exposés.

On May 8, Mr. Okudzeto Ablakwa published Episode 4 of his publication, asserting that the registered directors of the National Cathedral of Ghana and the Bible Museum Foundation, Inc. had breached the law by failing to submit their tax returns for the two years prior.

The three directors—Dr. Vernon Darko, Eric Okyere Darko, and Dr. Paul Opoku-Mensah—were all revealed to have failed to file their tax returns starting on May 3, 2021, according to his official Twitter account.

The previous Deputy Minister of Education commented, “Governors/Directors of Not-for-profits who are honest, accountable, and do not engage in diversion of monies generated for personal gain do not have difficulties filing their taxes.

It’s also interesting to notice that people who abuse their organisations and use them for illicit purposes like money laundering are more likely to file their returns late.

All of these initiatives, according to Mr. Thompson, are intended to cast doubt on the National Cathedral project notwithstanding comments from the Secretariat and subsequent engagement of the government.

Sam Okudzeto Ablakwa claims to be on a mission solely to put the government in a negative light.

Considering that any well-intentioned lawmaker would have consulted the Secretariat following any discovery, he claimed that the MP’s method of operation is even dubious.

Mr. Thompson noted that Mr. Okudzeto Ablakwa, on the other hand, delights in destroying anything he picks up.

He will claim that corruption exists even if it is gari that he discovers at the US office.
