At a news conference, Togbe Doglo Anuma XI, the president of the Avenor Traditional Council, pleaded with the public to help the police by providing them with information that will help them apprehend the offenders.
“The murder of Mandela Zanu, however tragic and difficult to understand, is nevertheless a crime and comes clearly within the purview of the responsibilities of employees of the Ghana Police Service. All sons and daughters of Avenor are urged by the council to cooperate completely with the police in carrying out their obligations in this case.
Togbe Doglo Anuma XI said, “I want to appeal to the Akatsi South Command to uphold the secrecy of informant names. The lives of informants are put in peril when natives protest that their identities have been revealed after they have given information to the leadership.
The most recent tragedy is only one of several recent homicides that have taken place in the Municipality.
