December 4, 2023 is the day on which the Accra High Court is scheduled to issue its ruling in the case of En Huang, also known as Aisha Huang, an accused unlawful miner.
Both the prosecution and the defense team told the judge that they had submitted written addresses to the court.
Aisha Huang is on trial for engaging in unlicensed mining activities, assisting others in engaging in illicit mining, and returning to Ghana following her deportation.
Aisha is being held in a jail and has refuted the accusations. Security and intelligence professionals are the complainants in the State’s complaint.
According to the prosecution, Aisha became “notorious” for participating in a number of nationwide “galamsey” small-scale mining operations.
It said in the year 2017, Aisha was arrested for a similar offence, but she managed to sneak out of the country, averting prosecution and had allegedly commenced small-scale mining activities without license after she re-entered the country.
