Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the vice president, asserted that despite serving as president for over 30 years, John Dramani Mahama lacked any transformative policies to be proud of.

Dr. Bawumia asserts that John Dramani Mahama will be remembered primarily for the power crisis (dumsor) the nation experienced and the guinea hens that were never retrieved under the SADA project during his administration.

The introduction of Free SHS, One District One Factory, mobile money interoperability, the digital address system, the Zongo constituency fund, and other programmes are to the credit of the ruling National Patriotic Party, he continued, in contrast to the NDC.

On April 8, 2023, he addressed to party members in Kwahu-Mpraeso during a health walk, “Do you know that John Mahama has been in politics his entire adult life? 30 years or more. He has held various positions including assemblyman, deputy minister, minister, vice president, and president. But can you name just one transformative measure he has put in place?”

“Just mention one but there is none, only Dumsor and guinea fowls, that’s it,” the speaker continued. “But with the NPP we have mobile money interoperability, one district, one factory, digital address, free SHS, Zongo constituency fund, there is so much we have done.”

The Akufo-Addo administration, according to Dr. Bawumia, has produced more jobs for Ghanaians than any other administration in the country’s history since independence.

“There were no jobs under the NDC regime because they produced unemployment rather than jobs, but now jobs are available everywhere. I’ve recently been looking at the numbers, and we’ve added 2.1 million jobs,” he declared.

There are 1.2 million people working in the public sector and 975 000 in the private sector, according to reliable data. There are still more jobs to be created, so we are not finished yet. No government since Independence, however, has created more jobs than Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo’s, he continued. “Anybody can contradict me, and I will supply the evidence.

Nonetheless, he pointed out that the government will increase employment creation as part of its development initiatives.
