In an unexpected turn of events, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson and Alexander Afenyo-Markin, two famous lawmakers from rival political parties, were seen dining amicably together to honor Ato Forson’s birthday.
The discussion of the 2023 Mid-Year Budget Review, which Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta delivered on July 31, 2023, resulted in a heated argument between Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, the minority leader, and Afenyo-Markin, the deputy majority leader.
The deputy majority leader humorously resurrected the slogan “eeiii Ato” during the parliamentary discussion as he presented his reasons in opposition to the assertions made by the minority leader.
But rather than letting their disagreements linger, the two lawmakers were afterwards spotted sitting at a table together and conversing.
Mr. Afenyo-Markin mockingly claimed that he was more attractive than his colleague Ato Forson in a lighthearted moment. He jokingly challenged Ato Forson to refute the claim, which made everyone in the room chuckle.
In response, Dr. Ato Forson underscored the shared humanity that transcends political affiliations and said, “Despite our political contrasts, we remain brothers.”
The deputy minority leader sent his colleague lawmaker heartfelt birthday greetings, and the two of them engaged in lighthearted banter and laughs.
As the two people put aside their political differences to spend a wonderful moment together, others joined in praising the act.
