Afua Owusu Asantewaa Aduonum, a Ghanaian event organizer, and her crew celebrated the end of their sing-a-thon challenge at Akwaaba Village with a raucous party.
On Friday, December 29, acclaimed musicians Adina, Praye Tiatia, and Akatakyie performed, enthralling the crowd with their great songs.
Adina’s moving rendition of her hit song “Why” was a highlight of the evening.
This performance was part of Asantewaa’s ambitious bid to achieve a new Guinness World Record for the longest individual singing marathon.
The concert not only displayed musical ability, but it also marked an important milestone in Asantewaa’s remarkable journey.
At the age of 33, Asantewaa began her incredible adventure to create a new Guinness World Record on Sunday, December 24, 2023, and will conclude on Friday, December 29, 2023. She gave an incredible performance over the span of nearly five days, singing for a total of 126 hours and 52 minutes.
While Asantewaa’s astounding performance qualifies her as a potential new record holder, exceeding Sunil Waghmare’s existing record, formal recognition from Guinness World Records (GWR) is still pending until they complete the requisite validation procedure.
