A shocking incident has occurred in Atwima Agogo Copas in the Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipal of the Ashanti Region, where a 35-year-old trotro driver, Akwasi, has allegedly poisoned his 25-year-old fiancée, Martha, and attempted suicide.

According to reports, Martha paid a visit to her fiancé last Saturday, and after some disagreements between the two, Akwasi allegedly poisoned her. He then called his mate and handed the phone to Martha, telling her to speak with him. After speaking with the mate, Martha informed them that she would not be staying overnight and needed to return home.

Akwasi, however, grabbed her phone and told her she could not leave. After Martha’s demise, her family was informed that the house she visited had burned down, but when they arrived, they found out it was false and learned that their daughter had died.

Afterward, the trotro driver was discovered in his room foaming at the mouth, presumably due to a suicide attempt. He was rushed to the hospital and is currently being treated.

Sources close to the couple have revealed that Akwasi was depressed because Martha was not treating him well and had threatened to end their relationship.

This incident highlights the need for couples to seek professional help and counseling when facing relationship issues. It is important to address problems and conflicts within relationships rather than resorting to extreme and violent measures.

For the most part, this tragic event serves as a reminder that relationships can be complicated, and seeking help is essential. Couples need to communicate openly, be respectful of each other, and seek assistance when facing challenges. Let us strive to build healthier and safer relationships within our communities.
